I took the “scenic” route out of Portland and accidentally added a few miles to an already long day on the road. (Typical Mark mistake or “bonus miles”)
The Oregon Coast Range was the longest and toughest climb of the trip so far. It was totally worth all of the spectacular scenery. After camping out on the back deck of a friend’s place ( They were out of town or I would’ve stayed indoors. I think…) I went to the Otis Cafe for a delicious breakfast. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try, but there just wasn’t room in the tummy. There’s a sign in the cafe that reads “Worth the
weight wait”. Very true.
